Many small firms start as a single person operation. If it is a traditional business, most of the time is spent creating or locating the products or services to be sold, and on general management tasks. If the business is an Internet business selling online, most of the web design work would be done in-house. In both cases, your website is the shop window to all potential customers, worldwide. As your business develops there will be the need to delegate or outsource various functions. Accounting is usually one of the first. What you normally do not have is enough time.
As existing business owner you may have decided to add a website to enhance your brand, promote the company, or to sell direct to targeted customers. The website can be self made, using in-house staff, or out-sourced to a web design company. But there is much more than just having a website that needs to be considered. A business strategy is vital.

As a business owner, you know your business better than anybody, growing a company and increasing sales means working with a business resource that can work with you as a team, and have a common goal. As every company is different, there are no instant answers. You will have information, images, pictures, possibly video that all can be used to build your business.
Established Businesses
You may not be interested in website designs and all the technology that makes it happen, running your business is what you do best. But consider your existing website, do you know when it was last updated?, who has responsibility as a Webmaster to maintain and make changes? When have you visited your own site as a possible visitor?, How many visitors visit and what do they do when looking at your site?
